In January 2026, Anthony, Flavian, and Vitus traveled to Uganda to carry out their first independently managed project in Africa: the installation of a PAUL water filter at St. Balikuddembe Primary School in Buwama. After months of preparation, they worked alongside local partners to set up a system capable of providing clean drinking water without electricity or chemicals. The trip showed them that sustainable impact depends not only on technology, but also on local ownership, maintenance, and long-term collaboration.
Beyond the installation, they gained deeper insights into daily life in Uganda through visits to schools, Makerere University, local communities, and a slum initiative called Kech Pii Ti. They were particularly moved by the openness of the people they met, the structural challenges in the areas of water, health, education, and employment, and the importance of strong local relationships.
