The sanitary conditions on site also became apparent: a small, outdated facility without running water that has to serve an entire street—unfiltered and difficult to process. At the same time, children were playing behind Vincent’s accommodation and showed us their games. Of course, we were invited to join in.
In July 2025, Flavian Schmidt and Anthony Kluth took over as board members with the goal of further expanding the organization’s efforts related to Blaues Herz and focusing the association more strongly on its own projects, long-term partnerships, and practical implementation.
This also led to a partnership with the EBS Educare initiative. Together with students, supporters, and partners, we have since been actively engaged in addressing issues related to water, hygiene, and education—both through events, student presentations, and projects, as well as through hands-on implementation on the ground.
In addition to imparting knowledge, practical project work plays a central role for us. With the help of a constantly growing network and through our water project in Uganda, we have succeeded in establishing cross-border partnerships that enable us to implement and support projects over the long term, transparently, and in collaboration with local partners.
Our goal is to combine knowledge transfer, student engagement, and practical project work to build and provide long-term support for sustainable structures in the areas of water, sanitation, and education in collaboration with local partners
